Nucleus Groups

Collective intelligence for ambitious, exceptional minds

At Movi, we know that ambitious, exceptional people thrive best when surrounded by peers who challenge, understand, and truly see them - not just for what they do, but for who they are and what they’re striving to become.

What sets Nucleus Groups apart isn’t just the caliber of its members, but the quality of connection. Here, you’ll find a rare space where your hopes, obstacles, and lived experiences are met with genuine curiosity and support. Imagine a place where you don’t have to impress anyone, but can show up as your whole self-and leave feeling lighter, bolder, and more inspired to move forward.

Why Nucleus Groups?

Most groups bring people together to socialize or to get things done:

  • Social groups are for fun, camaraderie, and belonging: your weekend hike crew, your book club, or your dinner parties.

  • Collaborative groups help us tackle projects and solve big problems: your team at work, a volunteer project, or a startup.

But there’s a third kind of group:

  • Formative groups exist so members can grow together.

Here, the purpose isn’t to complete a project or “have a good time,” but to reflect honestly, challenge and uplift one another, and become more coherent, courageous, and human together.

At Movi, Formative groups are called Nucleus Groups. A Nucleus Group is your third space, beyond work, family, or friendship circles, coming together as a sanctuary for growth. In these high-trust circles, people make a shared commitment to show up authentically, engage regularly, and support each other in becoming who they most want to be.

How Nucleus Groups work

  • Small, handpicked cohorts (6–8) of growth-minded Movi members, matched for diversity and resonance.

  • Monthly 2-hour sessions: Professional facilitation at the start, then empowered peer leadership as trust grows.

  • A structured, proven flow: Open check-ins, deep-dive spotlights, reflective storytelling, not advice or “fixing.”

  • Radical confidentiality and shared norms: What happens here, stays here.

Why Nucleus Groups matter

We created Nucleus Groups after piloting intensive Formative cohorts with Dave Evans, inspired by Stanford’s Designing Your Life. What emerged was extraordinary, a dynamic so honest and generative that participants kept coming back, even (and especially) those who found showing up the hardest.

Real stories from the pilot:

  • “This is the only place where I can talk about the things no one else ever asks about and I leave feeling hopeful, energized, and recharged.”

  • “It was almost the people who were having the hardest time attending who said it transformed their lives in ways they never expected.”

  • “Even with close friends, it’s hard to go this deep. Here, everyone wants to get real, not just have a good time.”

People discovered new courage, resilience, and direction-not just from what they shared, but from the collective wisdom that emerged.

Who are Nucleus Groups for?

If you're:

  • A new parent figuring out how to balance ambition with presence at home, and wondering what it means to thrive in both roles.

  • A seasoned leader transitioning toward semi-retirement and curious about what a purposeful “next chapter” could look like.

  • Highly engaged, but unfulfilled in your work, questioning whether to make a bold pivot or a subtler internal shift.

  • Fresh out of grad school and weighing which city, role, or community to anchor your life in.

  • An entrepreneur who’s just exited a venture and is asking, “What now?” beyond the next deal.

  • Mid-career, accomplished on paper, but yearning for a space to explore who you are beyond your résumé.

  • At any other crossroads in your career, a relationship, family dynamic, or health journey and looking for a trusted circle to process and reflect with.

And also:

  • Craving honest, thoughtful conversation with exceptional peers across generations

  • Willing to invest deeper attention, presence, and care into your own and others’ growth

You’ll find your people here.

FAQs

What is expected if I join?

A six-month commitment, monthly participation, and openness to give and receive honest reflection.

What do we actually do in a session?

In the first few sessions, we’ll focus on building the foundation: setting norms like radical confidentiality, building trust, working on our compass, setting goals, and finding our focus questions. After that, sessions follow a proven structure of experience-sharing. Sometimes a new concept or framework is introduced, sometimes it’s purely about member stories, but it’s never a lecture or a networking event.

Is this therapy or a business mastermind?

No. Nucleus is neither advice nor therapy, but a reflective, high-trust space for peer support.

How are groups curated?

By application, mixing backgrounds, stages, and perspectives for rich, generative dialogue.

What if I’m new or introverted?

Many discover the “proximate anonymity” makes showing up more liberating, not less. The focus is on being real, not on performing. You are always in the driver seat and you decide how much you share.

What if I don’t “click” with my group?

Groups are thoughtfully curated, but if it doesn’t feel like the right fit, we’ll work with you to adjust.
