Our founding story

Movi was born from a simple observation: the most meaningful growth, personal and professional, rarely happens alone, and almost never happens within the boundaries of a single industry, generation, or worldview.

Our founders Bill and John had spent decades building, investing, and advising across some of the world's most complex organizations. What they kept discovering, in boardrooms and early-stage companies alike, was that the most generative conversations happened at the edges—between the seasoned operator and the first-time founder, between the person with institutional knowledge and the one unencumbered by it, between people who had nothing obvious in common except curiosity and a genuine desire to grow.

Movi, short for Mosaic Vision, takes its name from the eye of a bee, whose thousands of lenses combine to form a picture no single lens could capture alone. That is the conviction at the heart of everything we do: that we see more together than we ever could alone, and that seeing better is the first step toward building better.

What started as an experiment in cross-generational, cross-industry connection has grown into a community of people who take that premise seriously and who show up, again and again, to prove it true.
